Spring 2010 (Saturday)
Students interested in becoming members of Cohort 11 must attend Admissions Orientation and complete the On-Campus Writing Sample. March date to be determined.

Admissions Interviews will be scheduled for late March or early April 2010.

Early June 2010
Students admitted to Cohort 11 must attend Program Orientation from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. (date TBA).

Thank you for your interest in our program. Each Spring, we admit into our doctoral program individuals who are committed to becoming change agents in their educational settings.


Admissions Requirements: (applications for Cohort 10 beginning Summer 2010 are due 01/22/2010).

  • A graduate degree from an accredited institution and Level -5 (e.g., T5, S5, or L5) certification or its equivalent.

  • A cumulative graduate GPA minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Minimum composite GRE scores of 1000.
    • For tests taken prior to October 2002, the minimum composite score is 1000 with at least a 450 on the verbal section and at least a 450 on EITHER the quantitative or analytical sections.
    • For tests taken after October 2002, the minimum composite score is 1000 with at least a 450 on the verbal section AND a 450 on the quantitative section.

  • A 500-750 word essay that indicates the applicant's personal goals and suitability for the Ed.D. program, which must accompany the application.

  • Three recommendations completed by individuals who have supervised the applicant's work in schools. The recommendation form contained in the application packet or on-line must be used.

  • Three years of public/private school experience, which should be described on the vitae.

  • A vitae listing education and employment history, experience with school improvement, awards and recognitions, etc. Current and complete contact information including e-mail address must be included.

  • Signed acknowledgment of the Ed.D. Mission Statement.

  • Documentation of a supervisor's support for the applicant's participation in the doctoral program.
